Family of Missing Kenyan Woman in UK Issues Press Statement

Police, family members and Kenyan diaspora organisations are conducting a coordinated search in Slough for missing student Edna Mmbali Ombakho, with Thames Valley Police pursuing several active lines of inquiry.

On Thursday, Edna’s father and sister attended a formal briefing at Slough Police Station. They were accompanied by representatives from the Kenya High Commission, members of the UK–Kenya Diaspora Community led by KCCC–UK, friends of the student, and groups including BAME Hub UK Network and Kenyan Diaspora Media.

The meeting reflected coordinated efforts between authorities, diplomatic officials and community organisations. During the update, the senior investigating officer confirmed that four separate lines of inquiry are being followed.

The delegation was also taken to the site of Edna’s last confirmed sighting to help clarify the current focus of the investigation. Officers stated that the case remains active and that information from the public could assist further progress.

Edna’s family said they were grateful for the support and engagement shown by officers. They noted that police have maintained regular communication with them and with representatives of the diaspora community.

The family expressed hope that continued cooperation will lead to her safe return.

An appeal for information has been issued. Anyone with relevant details is asked to contact Thames Valley Police by calling 999 in an emergency and quoting investigation number 43260053275.
