Kenyan Comedian Chipukeezy to Perform at Afrimma Awards in Dallas, Texas
Popular Kenyan comedian Chipukeezy is set to perform in Dallas, United States this coming weekend at the prestigious Afrimma Awards.
Chipukeezy said he is delighted to be the first Kenyan entertainer to stage a performance at an event of such magnitude in the US. “I am the first Kenyan comedian to be given such an international stage and I am set to make history once I'm in Dallas,” he told MondayBlues.
“I know this opportunity will open more doors for me and other Kenyan comedians,” the funny man added.
His meeting with his idol, Kevin Hart in the US early this year seems to have raised his profile on the international stage.
On Sunday, the Kenyan entertainer will share the stage with renown Nigerian comedian Basketmouth at Awards show.
Kenyan artistes including Sauti Sol, Nyashinski, Victoria Kimani, Avril, Akothee, Willy Paul and Vista as well as deejays Crème de la Crème, Mfalme and Kalonje have been nominated for the awards.
“I am overwhelmed and grateful to God for all this. It is proof that consistency, discipline and hard work pays. I thank the Tanzania company for their offer. What a big surprise,” he said.

I must be getting really old and out of touch because I would NEVER consider going to the event associated with this article. These days, I cherish the company of mature adults indulging responsibly in select adult type beverages and engaging each other in stimulating banter.

nani,probably you are getting old,but i would chance to guess your lack of enthusiasm at some of these afican evens is the quality of the product.hardly these african comedians make me laugh.they dont seem to put alot of time and research in their work,and tend to present a recircled watered down jokes.of course iam generalizing,but there is alot of truth in what i have said.
