Empowering Change: Lilly Richards' Impact on 14,000 Kenyan Women in the US

Lilly Richards grew up in Kakamega attended Mumias Girls High School and later pursued hotel management before transitioning to the U.S.

Lilly Richard's entrepreneurial journey commenced with a burning desire to make a mark in the beauty industry. As a young girl fascinated by colours and cosmetics, she dreamt of creating products that would not only enhance beauty but also be ethical and cruelty-free. Her dream materialized in the form of "Lavish by Lilly," a cosmetics company that today stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment.

From lipsticks to foundations, eyeliners to eyeshadows, Lily created a diverse product line that not only captivated customers but also adhered to vegan principles. The journey was not without its challenges. Lily faced hurdles, scepticism, and sleepless nights, but her determination prevailed. Today, Lavish by Lilly boasts a range of premium, vegan products that have garnered a loyal following both in the United States and her homeland, Kenya.

As Lily's cosmetics empire flourished, she realized the need to address the challenges faced by those trying to manage affairs in Kenya while residing abroad. This realization birthed "Premium Errands Global," a company designed to alleviate the burden of long-distance management. Lily, with her team of professionals, assures clients that their overseas tasks would be handled seamlessly, from anywhere in the world. The venture proved successful, gaining a reputation for reliability and flexibility.

But Lily's entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there. Recognizing the demand for strategic guidance in businesses engaging with the diaspora community, Lily established "Lily Richards Consulting." Here, she offered a range of services, from strategic advice to customer service training and one-on-one coaching. Lilly's expertise became sought after, and she found herself shaping the strategies of multiple companies.

In 2015, Lilly founded KWITU Inc. as a non-governmental organization to unite and empower Kenyan Women Living in the USA. Alongside fostering connections through social media platforms, workshops, and networking events, KWITU, Inc. also hosts cultural gatherings, community programs, and annual grand reunions. With a membership of 14000, this organization provides a secure space for women to openly address matters impacting both Kenyan women in the USA and Kenya.

“14,000 Kenyan women living in the US”?

Having a Facebook page saying you live in the US or any part of the world and living in the US are two very different things.

Someone needs to verify those claims of 14,000 Kenyan women living in the US.

Hizi ni stori za Jaba.

I am a member of KWITU and yes this group only adds women based in the USA or Canada. This is why joining the group is not easy. The vetting process is very serious so yes! Every single one of those ladies in either in the US or Canada

1. That’s just a Facebook group.
2. The vetting process for that group is vague , dubious and unverifiable.
Am being very generous with my description.

“The vetting process is very serious”
Kwani ni visa ya kuenda America munapeana?!

Are you giving people visas to go to America ?

That group is lying about where the members live.
Harmless lies but lies.

Who hurt you? No one in our team cares to prove anything to anyone outside our community.

As a KWITU member, your 'concern' spews nothing but ignorance from someone who can't get inside the club...heckling from the sidewalk.

Nktest!!!!

1. KWITU cannot even prove those women in that Facebook group live in the US.

The verification used is referral and confirmation is gossip.

😅😂

I cannot even take that group seriously.

Her claims need to be interrogated. She’s not being honest.

The location of those “Kenyan women” in her Facebook group. How she verifying their location? Muchene? Gossip?

Also , are they all Kenyans? Is she checking their Kenyan identification card? Or is she using birth certificates to verify their nationality.

Take your own advice.

If strangers stating the obvious triggers you to this level, it’s you who has a problem.

KWITU mamas are lying to its members & to the public.
