Moses Kuria to File Petition in Court Seeking Orders to Recount Votes of August 8th Presidential Election

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria says that he will move to court to seek orders for re-counting of votes cast in the August 8th presidential election.
Kuria said he had instructed lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui to file a petition at the Constitutional Court seeking orders to re-count the votes of the already nullified election.
The lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui confirmed that Kuria had contacted him regarding the petition, but they are yet draft the case.
"Moses Kuria called me on Saturday but we have not sat down for him to give a proper instruction on what he wants." Kinyanjui told the Star.
Citing the Freedom of Information Act, Kuria seeks to have the 40,886 ballot boxes opened and the votes counted at Kasarani Stadium.
"As a voter, I am entitled to information about what is in those boxes. Let us all meet there," Kuria said on Saturday.
The Supreme Court on September 1st nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta's win citing non-conformity with the Constitution and Elections Act and ordered a fresh election be conducted within 60 days.
Last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta faulted the apex court for overturning his win, arguing that it should have borrowed a leaf from the US Supreme Court 2004 verdict to order recount of votes.

Tit for tat is said to be a fair game-but no one wins. Winners change tack and the playing field. That is what needs to be in place Mankush. Doing your competitors stunts will not do the trick-I believe there are more proactive strategies up your sleeves.
