IEBC Expunges 80,000 from Voter Register

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has availed the final voters’ register that will be used in the August 8 polls after expunging dead voters from the list. The total number of voters’ in the upcoming elections now stands at 19.6 million after the Electoral Commission expunged over 80,000 records from the register.
IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati while presenting the final register, said that the 80,000 included 10,000 in the diaspora, and those in prisons.
“The certified register of voters for the 2017 General Election has a total of 19,611,423 voters. This number includes 4,393 Diaspora in five countries and 5,528 registered in 118 prisons across the country. Comparatively, the register of voters has increased by 36 per cent (5,222,642 voters) since 2013,” he said.
According to Chebukati, KPMG revised the initial number of dead voters from the initial of 92,277 to 88,602 after emerging that the number could have been affected by inaccurate reports of the dead.
“The Commission expunged a total of 88,602 deceased persons from the register. The Commission was provided a total of 92,277 records of deceased persons. However, this number was later revised to 88,602 by KPMG after notification that the difference could be that of reportees,” he said.
53 percent of the 19.6 million registered are male, while 47percent are women according to Chebukati.

I do not know why ODM guys and girls engage in this idol following of Ojinga. I quiet frankly believe that even the LUO people deserve better leadership than what they have been getting from this Ojinga. I mean everything about their politics has been about taking and consuming his BS/Crap.For example 1)The guy refuses to accept defeat should he get defeated in the election 2)His lieutenants keep saying for the last 6 months that they will not go the supreme court should there be some issues of question in the election. Most Luo ordinary men and women know that this would only lead to chaos in the country.Chaos that would not benefit the ordinary Kenyan family regardless of whether they are Luo or Kikuyu. However these ODM girls and guys continue to foolishly defend him.Nonsense.I look forward to the day we will have more Peace Loving and Development conscious leaders from LUO Nyanza. And by the way I know that many folks and politicians from Luo land know that what I am saying is right, but they are too scared/brainwashed to speak up.
