I have Not Stepped Down for Anyone, Says Sonko after Hashtag #SonkoStepsDownForPK Trends on Social Media

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has refuted claims that he has stepped down in the race for Nairobi Governor in favor Peter Kenneth.

Sonko issued the clarification on his Twitter account after rumors circulated for the better part of Wednesday that he had stepped down and endorsed the former Gatanga MP.

Hashtag #SonkoStepsDownForPK to was trending in Kenya on Twitter as a result of the false claims, which Sonko dismissed a propaganda.

“Propaganda machinery at work. I’m not stepping down for anyone. Let the Great people of Nairobi decide,” wrote the legislator on his twitter account.

Sonko and Peter Kenneth face each other on Friday, April 21st at the Jubilee nominations for the Nairobi Governor seat. Former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru is also in the race to unseat Evans Kidero.

Nairobi needs a brainer and not semi.- illiterates
