MP Simon Mbugua Claims Attempts on His Life by Powerful Gov't Officials

East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Simon Mbugua now alleges that there are attempts on his life by powerful government officials.
Speaking to journalists in Nairobi on Sunday, Mbugua said he had learnt of a plot to eliminate him over his support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
The former Kamkunji MP was on Sunday morning barred from addressing a press briefing at Panafric hotel in Nairobi. Mbugua said Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho was using his position to intimidate him over his relations with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
"My life is in danger. Powerful forces in government want to eliminate me because I support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid."
The MP was denied access to Panafric hotel by the management, despite having booked a venue to hold the media briefing for Sh30,000. He said the hotel was ordered by police not to allow him address the media at the premises.
"The manager informed me he was told by the OCS and the OCPD not to give me access to the hotel. The hotel was intimidated that if they allow me, then they would be shut," Mbugua claimed.
Several officers were deployed at the hotel to make sure Mbugua doesn't address reporters, who had arrived at the venue after an invite by the MP.
Last week, the MP was arrested and charged with robbery with violence in connection to an attack on businessman Timothy Kariuki by hired goons two weeks ago at a Nairobi hotel. He was, however, released on a Sh200,000 cash bail.

This boy is an idiot. We should not be reading about him on national news. He should be ignored contemptuously.
