Azimio Accuses the US of Meddling in Kenya's Political Affairs

The Azimio coalition has accused foreign nations of interfering in Kenya's political affairs.

Leading a group of senators, Siaya senator Oburu Odinga accuses the United States of interfering with Kenya's political climate. Senator Oburu believes bringing up democracy during the Devolution conference in Eldoret was insensitive, stating that there could be no genuine democracy in a country where citizens' lawful rights to protest have been made illegal by the government.

"I'm hurt when the US ambassador is dancing and praising democracy in Kenya when such rights(right to demonstrate) are being criminalised and described as the destruction of property," he said.

Meanwhile, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has also criticized Whitman for eroding the trust they are building by commenting on the 2022 election. Whitman had earlier touted the election as free and credible, saying that Ruto's win was upheld by the Kenyan Supreme Court.  During the devolution conference in Eldoret on Wednesday, Whitman reiterated her belief that the 2022 general election in Kenya was the most transparent and democratic in the country's history. She pointed out that the Supreme Court's affirmation of the election was a testament to its integrity.

Whitman also challenged foreign investors to invest in Kenya, saying that the country has a stable democracy and vast potential as a regional financial and logistical hub with a consumer market of around 500 million people. While some such as Azimio leader Raila Odinga have criticized Whitman for allegedly taking sides and sacrificing the push for electoral justice, a section of foreign commentators and analysts have continued to describe the 2022 election as the "freest, fairest and most credible" in Kenya's history.

Make up your minds...one minute you are telling the West not to poke their noses into your biz, the next minute you are accusing them of not saying anything.. Listen to yourself....hang your boots in peace...every time you open your mouth, you lose much-needed credibility. You'll be thrown off the arena having erased all good, if any, that you've ever done.

Well said @ Just me. Not all facets of democracy ran smoothly all the time,or for that matter any governing system. You cannot discount democracy in Kenya just on the account of hooligans being barred from causing ruckus.Even with laws in place, commonsense has to be applied as well.
BTW, we did not invent democracy. So if you Azimio thinks it has a better system, lets see it.
Finally, any ruling system of governance is as good as the people running it.

The American government is full of Old people.

They see no future for themselves or others.

They’re tired.

Americans needs to replace these tired people with youthful , energetic people full of hope.

To my knowledge demonstrations are our legal right, the demonstration has to stay within the guidelines of the constitution. The moment demonstrators start blocking roads and destroying property, they are no longer covered under the constitution umbrella, they become common criminals and the government has no choice but treat them as such.

The US Government is full of old people who have lived their life. Wamechokaa.

The American government is hiding behind “Soft bigotry of low expectations” in attempting to justify their role in aiding and abetting Electoral fraud in Kenya and around the world.

Soft bigotry of low expectations:
Not expecting disadvantaged people or minorities to meet the same standard of behavior or achievement set for most people.

Soft bigotry needs to be Rejected.

Kenyans are known everywhere in the world for seeking Whiteman's approval. So while Ruto got one such sought after approval, Raila become jealousy. My advice to baba is not to worry baba, keep boys on the street and you good day of approval from them will also come
