MPs were Bribed with Sh100,000 to Pass BBI Bill, Moses Kuria Claims

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria claims that some MPs were bribed to pass the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020, popularly known as the BBI Bill.

Through his Facebook page, Kuria alleged that the MPs were paid Sh100,000 each to endorse the Building Bridges Initiative-driven Bill, which seeks to amend the 2010 Constitution.

Kuria did disclose the identity of the MPs who received bribes or provide any evidence to back his claims.

“MPs voting yes currently receiving their 100K from the office of a senior parliamentary leader,” he wrote.

On Thursday, the National Assembly overwhelmingly passed the Bill with 235 out of the 320 MPs who participated in the voting during the Second Reading supporting it. 83 voted against it while two others abstained.

224 members voted in the support of the Bill, 63 against, while two abstained during voting in the Third Reading, which occurred shortly before midnight.

A majority of MPs who voted to shoot down the Bill are allied to Deputy President William Ruto while those who endorsed are associates of President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The Senate is expected to vote on the Bill next week, paving the way for a national referendum later this year.

I believe they were bribed. They also bribed MCAs. However, you cannot bribe the entire electorate. Put it on the ballot and we shall see what happens. Any predictions?

Shame on you believing in everything Moses Kuria says! I doubt if you have read a single page of the BBI report or just feeding off what the media and rogue opportunistic casted away politicians spewed-out vomits for you.

Time for mourning to be a Kenyan after observing BBI creates more gangsters instead of extra resources. How will billionaire Kenyans finance the BBI or expanded govt if the current constitution is funded by loans? Why increase MPs and executive instead of decreasing them?Where Will 35 per cent for counties come from if the current 15% is un-available?Why not train and hire 200 teachers plus 50 nurses from each tribe for TOTAL INCLUSIVITY instead of a few thugs in the executive?

If MCAs were supposedly bribed( again IF) Ksh 2 Million, what makes you think MPs would take Ksh 100K? Besides 100K today will only buy you groceries in Kenya.
Kuria should take his muchene back to Tanganga Whatsapp group.

Some mps have been bribed with 10k. So 100k is quite a lump sum even though I don't trust every thing Moses says. They take any amount because of various needs especially from electorate. Many live on negative pay checks.

No surprise here. Our country has been for sale through and through. Corruption and greed runs through the veins our leaders. Remember the story of the farmer and the fox. Each time the fox ate the farmer's chicken, he apologized profusely. But he couldn't stop himself. The chickens kept disappearing- until one day it dawned on the farmer that the only way to stop him- is to shoot him. We need to shoot down these MOTHER --FS!

The only and legitimate way to shoot them down in for Wanjiku to unite and exercise her authority, but she is too much compromised with selfishness, briber, tribalism, don't care attitude, ignorance just to name a few.

Your individual ignorance surpasses that of the entire nation! Wanjiku will do her civic duty and vote for the BBI. Kenyans are well informed that you are and they support the bbi.

This Kuria fellow seems to sleuth around quite abit ,lately.Afew days ago it was the revelation that 40% of Mpgs have fake credential and now this. How come he has "first hand" knowledge of shenanigans going on in the government?
If he is going to continue with his public service, let him name some people, otherwise, its just notice to get attention, which amounts to nothing. So Mr.Kuria, give us a list of these corrupt individuals.

Too much East is West. Corruption pandemic has gone too far. It will consume even its author and finally we will all find peace and no more corruption.
The darkest hour of the night is just before dawn. And "Light" will be here soon.
