Kenya to Buy New Chancery in London for Sh2 Billion

The government is set to spend Sh2 billion on acquiring a new property that will house Kenya’s chancery in London, the United Kingdom.
The Treasury has allocated Sh1 billion in the 2021/2022 financial year for the purchase of the building, according to budget estimates provided by CS Ukur Yatani. The government has already paid Sh1 billion for the new property.
The building that currently houses Kenya’s chancery in London is rented.
The acquisition of the London property is part of the ongoing plans by the government to cut down on rental expenditure by foreign missions.
In a report to parliament last year, Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Amb. Macharia Kamau said Kenya spends at least Sh3 billion annually on renting offices and residences for its diplomats abroad.
In 2019, the government bought a property in Switzerland for over Sh1 billion.
PS Kamau said the ministry requires Sh5 billion annually for the next 15 years for the purchase of offices and residential houses for foreign missions.
He also raised concerns on the dilapidated state of most government-owned properties in foreign countries, saying they are old, having been acquired in the early years of Kenya’s diplomacy.
The Treasury has set aside Sh50 million in the next fiscal year for the renovation of the current ambassador’s residence in London and a further Sh116 million for the refurbishment of government properties in Kinshasa (DRC), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), New York (US) and Lusaka (Zambia).

Why use fancy terms like chancery here goes the greedy jubilee government spending 2 billion to acquire some over priced property in London. How about insisting on getting the land for free which is exactly what Britain did when they colonized Kenya. To date the royal family still owns land in Kenya for what and why when IDP’s are languishing in poverty after serving as shamba boys and househelps to these colonialists

Britain stole land Kenya and all others who joined their program. IWe are still on their program but the end of following their program is near.
Its time for revelation and restoration. Every inch of stolen land will go back to its rightful owners. We are almost there.
Every blood split will be repaid. Let us keep watching this space!!

Ndugu Mwororo. Hapo umenena sana. Nimefurahi sana to see wananchi wamekaa chonjo.
You see this whole charade will someday end. I am working hard to ensure that when it ends, there is a viable alternative for our future generations. Just 50 years ago, they would laugh at you if you said an eastern chunk of russia would be independent and want to join EU or that Ethiopia colony would face an uprising by a tiny tribe who would secede and leave their former nation virtually landlocked.
Hii embassy as mentioned by learned expats is at best a joke and at worst a shameful disgrace for its users. We are moving to a digital world n over 70% of tasks can be processed digitally. You cant say you are broke to pay your striking staff, yet feel its time to upgrade from renting to owning in the same vein. Notice their wording- they want NEW premises forgetting that buckingham palace is one of the oldest buildings in london and over 50% of standing structures are over 2 centuries old.
Anyway, hii ujinga itaendelea unless people say enough is enough and hold them accountable. In this case, protest, lobby and demand for your owed services. The squeaky wheel gets the grease
