Kimani Wamatangi Wins Jubilee Ticket for Kiambu Senator

Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi has emerged the winner for Kiambu county Senatorial Jubilee party ticket in what appeared to be a neck to neck race.

Wamatangi was declared the winner after garnering 206,282 votes while his main competitor, Ngewa MCA Karungo wa Thangwa came close second with 178, 814 votes.

The outspoken Senator became a few of Kiambu county incumbent politicians to win  after most of political heavyweights were shown the door in the primaries. The county will have a large number of candidates flying the Jubilee ticket as fresh entrants in politics after incumbents appeared to suffer the axe of the voter.

Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu edged out Governor William Kabogo with a big margin, scooping the Jubilee ticket for Kiambu governor race. Waititu tallied 353,604 votes while Kabogo got 69,916 votes.

Current Kiambu Women Representative Anna Nyokabi was also shown the exit door after a popular radio journalist and first timer Gathoni wa Muchomba secured the nomination.
