William Ruto, Oburu Odinga Form Joint UDA–ODM Committee
President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement leader Oburu Odinga have formed a joint committee to guide cooperation between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and ODM.
The announcement was made on Thursday at State House in Nairobi. A statement from State House said the committee will include senior figures from government and both parties. Members will include selected Cabinet ministers, parliamentary Majority and Minority leaders, and the two party leaders.
The committee will coordinate legislative and executive priorities to improve alignment and delivery. The move follows recent debate over zoning arrangements within ODM. Some party officials have proposed that UDA and ODM avoid competing in certain regions.
The proposal has led to internal disagreements. The new committee is expected to address these issues and set out a process for resolving disputes.
During the meeting, Ruto and Odinga said they would continue structured consultations between party organs. They said the initiative is intended to support dialogue and cooperation across government and party structures.
