Kenyan Judiciary Employee Hacks Husband, Daughter to Death as They Sleep

A 45-year-old Kenyan judiciary employee has gone into hiding after she allegedly hacked her husband and daughter to death with an axe.

Naomi Wanjiku, a clerk at Karatina law courts, is said to have committed the heinous act their home in Kioru Village in Ndia, Kirinyaga County on Saturday.

She allegedly attacked and killed her 47-year-old husband, Charles Murimi and her 13-year-old daughter named Vallerie Njeri as they slept at around 4 am.

It is also reported that she unsuccessfully attempted to attack her 21-year-old son Felix Njine. Neighbors said Wanjiku and her husband Murimi, who was a manager at Jufred Dairies, were embroiled in constant domestic fights before this incident.

Bodies of Murimi and her daughter were taken to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

Confirming the incident, Baricho OCPD Joseph Mwiki said police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who fled to an unknown place after committing the crime.
