Kenyan Woman Dies After Jumping from Speeding Ambulance After Son Dies En Route to Hospital

A 26-year-old Kenyan woman committed suicide after her ailing son, who was being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, failed to make it.

The woman identified as Naiso Leslie is said to have jumped from the speeding ambulance shortly after her son Solomon Lesie, succumbed to the illness. The boy was first treated at Bisil Health Centre before it was recommended that he be transferred to Kajiado Referral Hospital.

The woman, who was expectant, allegedly opened the rear door of the ambulance belonging to the county government and jumped out, according to a police report on the Saturday incident.

“On reaching the location of the accident, the mother of the ailing child opened the rear door of the vehicle and jumped out and, as a result, she sustained multiple injuries,” the report stated.

The boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Kajiado Referral Hospital while the mother succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the same facility. The bodies of the two were taken to the hospital’s mortuary.

That “On reaching the location of the accident, the mother of the ailing child opened the rear door of the vehicle and jumped out and, as a result, she sustained multiple injuries,” does NOT make sense.
