MPs Allied to DP Ruto Collecting Signatures for President Uhuru's Impeachment Motion, MP Ngungiri Wambugu Claims

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu claims that a section of leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto are planning to table a motion of impeachment against President Kenyatta.
Wabugu said that the MPs operating under a movement dubbed ‘Tanga Tanga’ have been collecting signatures for President Kenyatta’s impeachment motion ahead of its tabling in the National Assembly.
He claimed that last week’s press briefing by Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, where he called for Kenyatta’s resignation over incompetency, was meant to prepare Kenyans for the impending ouster motion against the President.
The first-term MP said that the impeachment motion is meant to intimidate President Kenyatta over the ongoing fight against corruption that has seen arrest and prosecution of senior government officials, including recently, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.
“This is a premeditated plan by some leaders, who had been collecting signatures with such intent. This is just one indication that the people behind corruption are willing to do anything to stop him and they are dangerous,” Wambugu said.
