Cook Pleads Guilty to Sodomizing Boy at Machakos Children’s Home

A man accused of sodomizing boys at a children's home in Machakos County was arraigned in court on Thursday.

David Mutuku Katuku is accused of sexually assaulting the minors at the Martyrs of Uganda Children’s home in Kimutwa, Machakos County, where he works as a cook.

Appearing before Machakos Resident Magistrate E. Analo, Mutuku has been charged with sodomizing nine boys.

The accused has pleaded guilty to one count of sodomizing one of the nine boys and denied the other eight.

Mutuku will remain in police custody after the magistrate ordered that a pre-bail report is prepared and filed in court to determine whether the accused will be granted bond.

The prosecution opposed his release on bail, noting that he went into hiding after learning that police were searching for him following the allegations.

The prosecution further argues that it would be difficult to trace the accused since he has no known residence and was being hosted by a relative.
