Man on the Run After Reportedly Killing Siblings Using Scissors

Two individuals are dead and two others hospitalised following a violent domestic incident in Mundi village, Ol Kalou constituency, on Thursday.
The suspected assailant, a 27-year-old man, is alleged to have attacked his stepmother's children, resulting in the deaths of his biological sister and half-brother. Police reports indicate the suspect lured his younger stepbrothers to his room under the pretense of needing assistance with furniture repairs.
Upon gaining entry, he reportedly restrained and assaulted them using scissors. The violence then escalated to the main residence, where the suspect fatally stabbed his 13-year-old half-brother, Ramson Wanjohi, and his sister, Elizabeth Wanjiku Ngugi.
Responding to Wanjiku's screams, neighbours forced entry into the locked house and discovered the victims. The injured stepbrothers were rescued and transported to JM Memorial Hospital; one has since been discharged, while the other remains under medical supervision.
Nyandarua Central Police Commander Samuel Kamau confirmed the recovery of the suspected murder weapon. An investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and circumstances of the killings. Police are actively pursuing the suspect, who fled the scene immediately following the incident.
Family history suggests the existence of underlying tensions that may have contributed to the violence. Following the death of the suspect’s mother some years ago, strained relations reportedly developed between the suspect and his father’s second wife. The suspect's father, an employee of the county government, and his wife were away from the home on a shopping trip when the attack occurred.
The bodies of Wanjiku and Wanjohi have been transferred to Nyandarua Funeral Home for post-mortem examinations. Authorities are urging the public to provide any information that may assist in the ongoing investigation, as the suspect's location remains unknown.
