The two would make a great pair, but the way Kenyan politics is, their chances of winning are zero. That's unless Kivutha steals all the money from his Makieni county and dashes it out to churches between now and election time 2022.

Their political persona is not big enough to counter their lack of accomplishments necessary for national limelight. When the country is not politically polarized, they find it hard to get political grip and mileage. They made their names during single party rule and through agitation for multiparty. Like leaders of movements, when there is nothing organized to rally against they get disorganized. After the continental drift of the handshake, the only movement we have is against corruption. And since corruption has no figure-head to focus on, I find the duo to be without momentum to appeal to the masses. For hustlers' and wanjiku's children, the political arena has really changed and its only those who adapt and learn how to navigate ambiguity that succeed. Of course for the sons and daughters of Kenyan dynasties nothing has changed, the game is the same, the rules the same, just waiting for the right time to wear the leadership jersey and enter the political contest kwa vifijo, vishindo na nderemo.
