US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Falls Ill Hours after Arriving in Nairobi

United States Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has reportedly fallen ill hours after arriving in Nairobi on Friday evening.

In a statement on Saturday, the State Department said the US top government official had cancelled his Saturday programme due to the illness.

“The secretary is not feeling well after a long couple days working on major issues back home such as North Korea and has cancelled his events for the day,” said a brief statement from Undersecretary of State Steve Goldstein.

Tillerson arrived in Kenya on Friday from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and held talks with President Kenyatta at the State House in Nairobi.

The top Washington envoy was on Saturday scheduled to visit the AIDS-relief programme PEPFAR and later a ceremony to mark 20 years since terrorists bombed American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 people.

"Plans to lay a wreath at the site could be rescheduled," Goldstein said.

He will travel to Chad on Monday and Nigeria a day later.

Tillerson did you drink unboiled Kenyan water ama mosquito ilikukamata hata ikiwa ulikuwa na mosquito net? Mosquito za Kenya ni acrobatic hazitaki mchezo. Fanya hivi next time, just leave a drop of blood by the side table and they will leave you alone cos when you force them to be all acrobatic, then wanakuachia ka-malaria kidogo tu.
