Police are investigating the suspected murder of 21-year-old Faruz Hussein, whose body was found in a residence in the Githurai-Sunton area of Nairobi.

Hussein’s family suspects that she was killed following a dispute with her boyfriend. Relatives allege that the suspect later sent them videos that appeared to show the fatal attack. Investigators are examining the circumstances of her death and the claims made by her family.

According to documents shared by the family, the case was reported at Sunton Police Station in Kasarani on 30 September 2026 and recorded as a suspected murder. Other documents indicate that Hussein’s body was recovered from a residence in the Githurai-Sunton neighbourhood before being taken to a mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination.

The family has also alleged that the suspect threatened them after Hussein’s death. According to relatives, he warned that he would target her mother and younger siblings, raising fears for their safety. The family is calling for his arrest and prosecution, as well as protection for those who may be at risk.

The case became more widely known over the weekend after former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko publicised it on social media. Sonko also announced a reward for information that could help authorities locate the suspect.
