Families Raise Alarm Over Missing Kenyans in US and Saudi Arabia
Two Kenyan families are urgently seeking information after their relatives disappeared in separate incidents overseas.
In the United States, Abraham Kogo, a Kenyan from Uasin Gishu County who has lived in Mississippi since 2012, was last seen at his workplace in Jackson in early December 2025. Friends report that all attempts to contact him since then have failed.
Sources within the diaspora community say Kogo had previously displayed signs of distress, including arriving at work with visible injuries that raised concerns of possible domestic abuse. Friends and community organisations are appealing for anyone with information to contact The Kenyan Diaspora Media via its UK phone number or Facebook inbox.
In Saudi Arabia, Hellen Ayuma Busiega from Hamisi, Vihiga County, went missing more than a week ago. Her family reports that she was last seen in a troubled mental state, and efforts to trace her have been unsuccessful. They also say repeated attempts to contact the Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh have gone unanswered.
Relatives are urging Kenyans at home and abroad to help publicise her case and support efforts to secure her safe return. These cases highlight the challenges faced by Kenyans living abroad, including isolation, limited access to support networks, and bureaucratic barriers that can complicate searches for missing persons.
Diaspora communities emphasise the importance of vigilance and solidarity in responding to such situations. Family members and community groups are calling for anyone with information about the disappearances to come forward and share it with relevant authorities or community networks.
