Death Announcement: Fred Ojienda Gondi of Burnsville, Minnesota

It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of Fred Ojienda Gondi, a beloved son, devoted husband and father, and cherished friend.

Fred, son of Moses and Leah Wanjiru Ojienda of Minnesota and recently Florida, was found deceased in his Burnsville, MN apartment after a welfare check by police, initiated when his family hadn’t heard from him for days. 

Fred leaves behind his loving wife, Sylvia Gondi, and their precious one-year-old son, Lloyd. His unexpected passing has left an unfillable void in their lives and in the hearts of all who knew him.

At just 33 years old, Fred’s bright and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew him. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Fred served his country with honor and continued to live with that same dedication, kindness, and integrity in his everyday life. His laughter, warmth, and positive energy made every space he entered a little brighter.

As we grieve this tremendous loss, we are also coming together to prepare for Fred’s final journey home to Kenya, where he will be laid to rest with the dignity and love he so greatly deserves. The costs associated with this process, including travel and funeral expenses, are considerable, and we are humbly seeking support to raise $25,000 to help his family during this painful time.
