Five People Heading to a Birthday Party Killed in Accident along Nakuru-Kericho Highway

Five people were killed after the vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a road accident along the Nakuru-Kericho highway.

The Sunday morning crash occurred at Londian junction after the 14-seater public service vehicle lost control and veered off the road before rolling multiple times and landing on a ditch full of rocks.

Confirming the incident, Londiani OCPD Joseph Mutungi said the driver of the matatu lost control after its left rear tyre burst.

Three people were killed on the spot while two others died of their injuries while undergoing treatment at Londiani Sub-County Hospital where they were rushed after the accident.

The occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were en route to Kisumu city to celebrate the birthday of one of them.

Five other passengers suffered serious injuries and were treated at Londiani hospital. Two of them are in stable condition while the other three have since been transferred to Kericho County Referral Hospital.

The bodies of the deceased were transferred to Molo Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

The incident comes days after six people were killed in another accident involving a matatu and a truck along Nakuru-Nairobi highway.

The shuttle collided head-on with an oncoming lorry near Greansteads International School on Wednesday evening.

Pole sana. I don't do Parties. I don't do Weddings, I don't do Baby showers, I don't do Birthdays, I don't do Christmasses, I don't do Anniversaries, I don't do Baptisims, I don't do Graduations, I celebrate Quietly; and Save Time, Privacy, Money, and Peace of Mind. I even don't do Church nowadays. This is Me. And if I am Invited, I choose Carefully. For some Frenemies taught me the Saying that Says: GOD for Us all; and Everybody for Himself, or Herself.

Not doing parties, and all those social gatherings you mentioned does not insulate you from accidents.Do you do shopping, do you work,or go out of your house? Even if you stayed in the house year round, aplane could fall on you.
What do you say of those who die giving birth,or defending your country, and freedom?Or gathered at afuneral,or going to school? Tell me what you do that insulates you from harm?So that we may benefit from it as well.
