Deputy President William Ruto Apologizes to Turkish Harun Aydin Following His Deportation

Deputy President William Ruto has spoken out following the deportation of his Turkish associate Harun Aydin.

Aydin, who was arrested on arrival at Wilson Airport from Uganda over the weekend, was deported on Monday following consultations between Kenyan authorities and their Turkish counterparts.

Through Twitter on Monday, Ruto said he spoke to Aydin and apologized to him on behalf of the Kenyan government over his removal.

“Just talked & apologised on behalf of GoK to Aydin Harun, now in Turkey, who was politically arrested, tortured & falsely profiled as a ‘terrorist’ but later asked to fly out not to shame those involved. Political pettiness is expensive/dangerous & will destroy our economy. SHAME,” Ruto wrote.

Aydin was part of a team that was set to accompany Ruto during his private trip to Uganda last week. The trip aborted after Ruto was barred from flying to the neighboring country by immigration officers at Wilson Airport as he did not have clearance from President Kenyatta.

Ruto protested the arrest and detention of the foreigner, terming it a ‘tragedy of political pettiness.”

“Turkish investor, Aydin Harun, is a victim of top-down arrogance bred by patronage & cartels that criminalize enterprise,” Ruto said.

Aydin’s attorneys led Ahmednassir Abdullahi said their client had a legal working permit valid until 2023 and vowed to challenge his deportation in court.

“We will challenge the process to deport him because deportation is done according to certain procedures and laws. The Government cannot just deport somebody just because they’re a friend to the deputy president, that’s not an offense. So we will challenge that and bring him back to this country, whether it is this year or next year or the other year, it doesn’t matter,” Ahmednasir said.

Ruto has not learnt anything out of all the fracas he had cause to the country with his terrorist fren Aydin! Ruto should apologize to the Kenyan people for creating and causing such a shameful embarrassment to our country!

#Kanjajeromi, Why have you given up on the rule of law? How do we attain good governance: by detaining our enemies, deporting those we don't like? I guess you also support detention without trial, as long as all the detainees are your enemies. And when your family and friends get detained, you become a human right defender. Shame on us.

I certainly support everything you have said in the affirmative, devoid of the word “enemy”! Your utter nonsensical behavior can force you to think that everyone is your enemy!

You don’t do some stupid crap and then you climb on high horses shouting “my enemies are prosecutions me”! A country has to maintain the rule law at all times!

@Kanjanjeromi The guy never learns.
Even the Turkish criminal volunteered to go back to Turkey after learning he was dealing with unskilled crook who could not pull a clean scheme to bring back his stolen loot from Uganda(M7 been hiding it for him) back to Kenya.

We just need to starve him of votes come 2022 and then send him JkL to tell us why he killed women and children in 2008 besides other crimes. We then hand over to ICC to be prosecuted for all his crimes.

This apologist @ruto is far worse than a dog wanting to rip off a bone out of the mouth of Kenyans! Something very decisive must be done to cut off the melting wings that Ruto is using to fly! The DP is a total traitor to our republic! He must be stopped at whatever cost to avoid anarchy befalling our country!

Before I put out some ignorant statement, the question I ask - what is going on in the Kenyan front. Why does Ruto appear to be a target of frustrations and attack?

How can the poop govt deport a terrorist instead of charging him if the DCI had evidence? The guy will come back like druglord Chinendu who was deported some years ago on allegations of drug trade but returned to the following day.He is still still in Nairobi doing the same business today.

Whoever taught Ruto the art of politics failed him very badly! Ruto talks like he is about to give birth to a ton of bricks because he can’t control himself!

Good leaders do not behave that way! Ruto, you also lack total decency and tacts! Both in politics and in real life! Why do you want to remind us that you are a “hustler” while we all know you live under the luxury of stolen wealth! You think we are stupid??
