Kenyan MCA Dies of Cancer in India

Eunice Karegi, a member of the Meru County Assembly, has passed away.

Karegi, who is the MCA for Kiagu Ward, died of cancer while undergoing treatment at a hospital in India on Thursday.

Her passing was confirmed by Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, the leader of the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party under which Karegi was elected.

Mutua eulogized Ms. Karegi as a sharp, pleasant, and focused person who was loyal to the party.

Karegi was one of two women who were elected to the Meru County Assembly during the 2017 general elections.

Meru County Assembly Speaker Joseph Kaberia said the death of Karegi is a great loss to the assembly, the people of Kiagu ward, and Meru County at large.

“On my behalf and entire Meru assembly fraternity, I convey our sincere condolences to family, friends, people of Kiagu, and entire county government of Meru,” Kaberia stated.

Wololo - This now in India with all that COVID??? Poleni sana watu wa Meru. I am looking at her foto and wondering - is it just me or was she still in her 30s? Lately I have been seeing relatively young people getting all these deadly diseases and ninashangaa what is happening. Did this chap chap party of hers work her to death to get the votes, was this a longtime sickness or what triggered this? Wananchi, put your health first and watch your body so your body can watch over you for at least 50 years uone grandkids. I think the kenyan life expectancy rose from the 40s in the nineties to mid 50s or is it going back down?

Lucky for her she can afford to go and get treatment in India. Some Kenyans can’t even afford basic treatments. Maghufuli chose to die in his own country. A true patriot. Hawa wa kenya Sijui MPs & MCAs Bure kabisa kama alikula the corruption car money thats was given to pass BBI wacha aende akakulie huko Mbele

We need statistics on how many Kenyans go to India for treatment and come home alive, my feeling is that going to India for treatment is a rip off intended to make money for doctors and the brokers. India has one of the highest cancer cases in the world if they can not treat their own people how can they treat Kenyan. Kuna utapeli hapo

Wee wacha kiherehere. The discussion is how to watch over oneself and be self aware. Even your dear cousin if she went for adequate chckup and noticed her symptoms, that "hole in her heart" wouldve likely been avoided.
We all know we are going to die, the issue is how to enjoy healthy lives and prolong death as the op said till at least 50. Thats not unreasonable. If you think otherwise, why dont you just go ahead and die now so you can meet your mwene nyaga as you say? Thats right I didnt think you have it in you. So either listen or just shutup when others discuss things you cant comprehend. You may benefit from the discussion when you return to this thread in the future after your own grief
