Green Card Lottery for Fiscal Year 2022 (DV-2022) Starts October 7th, Ends November 10th, 2020

The US State Department has announced that the registration period for the Fiscal Year 2022 (DV-2022) Diversity Visa, popularly known as the Green Card Lottery, will run from October 7, 2020 12pm to November 10, 2020 Eastern time.

The Diversity Visa program makes up to 55,000 permanent resident visas (green cards) available to nationals of countries with low immigration rates to the US.

Countries with more than 50,000 of their citizens migrating to the US over the previous five years are not eligible to participate in the program. For that reason, citizens of the following countries are not  eligible to participate in DV-2022: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong KongSAR), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.

Kenyan citizens are eligible to participate in the program, including those currently living in the US on valid non-immigrant visas.

Applicants must submit their entries online between October 7, 2020 12pm to November 10, 2020 Eastern time at the following website: dvprogram.state.gov.

Guys Guys Guys... I wish you all the best in your future endeavors but this is not the US Embassy page. It's just an online magazine run by a Kenyan. You can't plead your case here. It breaks my heart that more and more people want to leave their homes and country but really and truly, something has to be done to stop this. Whether its electing true and qualified leaders or stopping corruption of people participating in their government processes, prioritizing investments that boost the economy, improving livelihoods. I long for the day that happens in Africa, parts of Asia and South America.
