Kenya Donates Sh300 Million to African Union to Fight Covid-19

Kenya has donated Sh300 million to the African Union (AU) Covid-19 Response Fund and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

The donation is part of the pledge by President Kenyatta to help in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic on the continent, Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba said.

“On our part as a member of the Africa Union and person to the pledge made by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenya has donated $2 million (Ksh.200 million) to the Africa Union COVID-19 response fund and pledged a further $1 million (Ksh.100 million) to support the Africa CDC,” Namwamba noted.

Namwamba added that the contribution is within the framework of the decision by AU to establish a coordinated continental strategy in combating the pandemic.

“Let it be known that we do not just receive, we also help others in the real spirit of continental and global solidarity,” he added.

The AU Covid-19 Response Fund was established by the Chairperson of the AU Commission Moussa Faki in March 2020 to strengthen the continental response to the outbreak.

The fund is aimed at boosting the “capacity of the Africa CDC to support response to public health emergencies across the continent; support the procurement and distribution of essential Covid-19 medical equipment and supplies and mobilize rapid response by the Member States, and mitigate its socio-economic and humanitarian impact on African populations.”

What a contradiction: We receive donations from foreigners and we donate.
We receive foreign used clothes ( from dead Covid-19 Patients and we ask Kenyans to market new clothes abroad. Why not meet the local demand first.
Kenya is the weakest link to the black nation.
Time for Revelation and Restoration!!
