Kenyan Small Businesses to Benefit from US Singer Beyoncé's 'Black Parade' Initiative

Kenyan brands are among black-owned small businesses that are set to benefit from funds raised from US singer Beyonce Knowles’ Black Parade song.

Beyonce, 38, plans to uplift small enterprises through her BeyGOOD Foundation Black Business Impact Fund as a way of giving back to the black community.

The beneficiaries were picked from various industries including beauty, fashion, restaurants and bars, and arts and design.

Some of the Kenyan brands featured in the list include Mutua Matheka (arts and design), Adele Dejak (fashion), Anyango Mpinga (fashion), AVIDO (fashion) Jiamini (fashion), El Afrique (fashion), Moyo by Bibi (fashion) and Wazawazi (fashion).

Beyonce co-wrote ‘Black Parade’ with her husband Jay-Z and it was her first solo song since her contributions last year to “The Lion King” companion album, “The Gift.” The song was released on Juneteenth (June 19th), a holiday that commemorates when the last enslaved African-Americans learned they were free.

“Happy Juneteenth Weekend! I hope we continue to share joy and celebrate each other, even in the midst of struggle. Please continue to remember our beauty, strength and power,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram after the song’s release.

Hapana ! Wacha huyu mama asiwadanganye. This is the same woman who refused to heed black activist voices and performed for corrupt Angolan Dos Santos daughter who is now indicted ati girl power as if they dont steal. Then her drug dealer Jay Z husband will eternally be remembered as the sellout who tried to buy an NFL team to silence Colin Kaepernick when he first knelt for black justice. Ati coz you have a black NFL owner, they can now tell black ppl to stand or else.
This Small business stunt is just PR to deflect from their absence these past 3 months and being on the wrong side of history. Washed out has- beens should just stay out of the limelight.

@mundu, She has pirated quite a number of tunes and drumwork from Africa and maybe, just maybe she is trying to compensate for that with a few pennies. She has also been accused of shamelessly lifting some dance moves from a Belgian. She is definitely not original and possesses marginal creativity at best.

The black nation is ready to tell its own story. Leave the black nation alone to set its own standard. Black nation is no longer beneath any other nation. There is no one superior to anyone else.
