B-Club Shooting Incident: Babu Owino Gives His Side of the Story

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has detailed events leading to the Friday morning shooting incident at B-Club in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.

In a Facebook post hours after he was arrested in connection with the shooting incident, Babu alleged that there was an exchange of gunfire at the entertainment joint as he was surrounded by what he termed as “a large group of aggressive individuals.”

“…While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restaurant, I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals. In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire,” Babu wrote.

Babu claimed that he has been living in fear in the past few months and had reported an attempted assassination at Parliament Police Station under OB number OB21/17/11/2019.

“A few weeks ago, I made a public statement regarding threats that I had been receiving against my life. At the turn of the year, I reported an attempted assassination at the Parliament Police Station under OB number OB21/17/11/2019 at 17:28hrs. I have been living under the weight of intimidation and threats by my political opponents. Yesterday was the culmination of these efforts by my enemies,” he noted.

He further called on the relevant authorities to investigate the incident and urged his supporters to remain calm as investigations continue. He pledged to continue supporting President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“I invite the relevant authorities to conduct their investigations without fear or favor and I remain confident that the truth will come out.”

“I urge my supporters to remain calm. I will continue to serve wananchi fearlessly. This will not deter me from supporting H. E Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country.”

Babu was arrested on Friday morning at Nairobi Hospital where he had allegedly gone to visit his victim, Felix Orinda, alias DJ Evolve.

&ongili son Owino - your justification for shooting a DJ is strangely lame and does not merit any support. What you are saying does not add up; it is dead on arrival; and you need to tell the truth, the real truth and so help you God!

Uhuru and Raila must stand up a denounce your rouge actions. We cant have leaders quite when the so called leaders are killing people they are supposed to lead. Babu, Stop mixing an attempted murder case with politics.

Has the gun been withdrawn from the hands of this damn MP? Yes, Kenyans are demanding action now! You ain’t special at all!

What Babu have done is far beyond the logics of any political grouping. It is not about the ballots; it is strictly about the bullets! You must pay with jail time for shooting someone. Human beings are not ducks to be shot aimlessly! Are Kenyans not furious about this boy’s actions?

Stop invoking the names of Uhuru and Raila in your foolish mess. It is such a disgrace for you to lie the shooting was politically motivated.

and alcohol stirred your brains and you just got mixed upstairs. Let’s just call it what is really is - ushenzi wa kuala pombe bila kipimo na kunyua Madawa ya kukevia!

And to all your so called supports, it is the high time they manned up and tell you to carry your own cross alone. Stop telling them to be calm while you have committed a in-thinkable crime.

Owino’s supporters should be very worried about your pushy lunatic state of mind; they should disown you and your toddler behavior actions! It is about time this grown little boy get to be of age and start behaving like a man; a real man for that matter! Are there grown ups in Kenya anymore? The society is trouble; a very terrible spot to be in when no one can counsel each other to stop doing crazy stuff!

Have we become immune to lunacy and lawlessness as a nation!? From shooting others, damn blame games by politicians, see no evil - hear no evil kind of society, corruption - which is a clear and present danger to future of generations and our economy, theft in high places our our resources, dirty politics, and what have you?

And to Ongili’s lawyer Ombati - Shame on you for trying to defend a criminal who nearly killed a DJ. Do you have to lie in public that Ongili felt threatened and so he had shoot someone? Kenya will never get to be at per with developed nations as long as lawyers like Ombati keep defending the indefensible - thugs and gangsters that are destroying the moral fabric of our society; our good country!

Babu, you won’t be hanging out in a bar in the wee hours of the morning if you had concerns about someone assassinating you. You just tried to assassinate a working citizen, at his place of work!

You were highly intoxicated with alcohol and drugs which impaired your mind to think irrationally at a critical moment. Drugs are a asteroid to kill your brain cells as you willingly consume them.

The Video shows Babu walking away from the scene of crime un-blazen and without any kind of remorseful emotions for just what he had done; shooting another human being. Who makes you think you are above the law? You walked away smiling and saluting those around you which makes me believe you have done the same thing before. Probably killed someone and just walked away! It is time for your madness to be stopped by getting put out in jail for a long time.

The victim must get justice that he deserves. It is a fair deal for him, and Kenyans need to see that justice is being done for all, and justice is not a preserve of 1% in a Kenya.

“...This will not deter me from supporting H. E Uhuru Kenyatta and H. E Raila Odinga in the journey to transform our country.” Yeah, continue transforming Kenya into to a banana republic. A day should come when the likes of these MPs are dealt with lawlessly...until they embrace the law for their own good.
