Man Receives Sh250,000 for House Damaged by President Uhuru's Chopper

A man whose house was destroyed by a helicopter carrying President Kenyatta in 2017 has received compensation.

The roof of James Keah's house was blown away as President Uhuru's chopper landed at Kizurini Secondary School in Kaloleni, Kilifi County ahead of a campaign rally.

Keah has received Sh250, 000 from President Kenyatta as compensation for the damage caused to his house.

The cash has been handed to him by the Coast Regional Coordinator John Elungata and Kilifi County Commissioner Magu Mutindika.

“We are here to visit Mr. Keah who is a neighbor of the school where President Kenyatta had come to visit on October 10, 2017, when he came to tour the school. During his tour, some of the choppers that had landed generated a strong gust of wind damaging his house,” says Elungata.

“We are a little bit late, but as the adage goes better late than never. We are here to give him a small token of Sh250, 000 from the president to enable him to repair his house."

Keah could not hide his joy when he received the cash from the two government officers.

“I’m thankful for the head of state; I did not think I would ever get such an amount of money to repair my house. This is an indication that our president cares for the less fortunate like me, he is respectful. I will now embark on repairing my house,” Keah says.

"Token to repair his house"? If he had an insurance on the house, I believe you would not be paying by tokens-it would be real money in crisp 1K bills. On a tangential thought would the cause of a damage matter if it is man-made, negligence, by stranger/neighbor or natural? I know not about insurance, but in the jungle, a time will come when the cause of the damage is as important as the damage itself. For example, if a neighbor's bull downs your fence, ask them to replace-whatever it costs them. If something like a chopper blows off your roof, check all actual and potential damages caused for a marked-up market compensation-it is a chopper's damage! If natural wind blows off your roof, blame it on ancestors or other superstitions, fix your roof and plant some trees. So on and so on.

What kind of nonsense is this? Does he have to have his pic taken? You’re paying the guy for damage to his house, he’s not getting a “reward” of some sort. Kenyans and useless pictures mafi kabisa. Glad you FINALLY settled the mess up

Lol! and then 2 years too late. Did they expect him to live normally for all that long without a roof, and then pay him 250k after that long?? It should have been a few week stuff.

After 2 years compensation from a sitting president?
2 years what does the president think this family have been going through without a roof over their heads for 2 years.
Peanuts after 2 years and the administration says better late than never.
