Five People - Including Two Americans - Die in Kericho Plane Crash

Five people have been confirmed dead after a light aircraft they were flying on crashed near Makutano Forest in Londiani, Kericho County on Wednesday morning.

The Cesna 206-5-Y BSE was headed to Lodwar, Turkana County from the Maasai Mara nature reserve when the crash occurred.

“There were five occupants in the plane and they did not survive,” says Rift Valley Region Police Chief Edward Mwamburi.

Kericho Police Commander James Mugera says a Kenyan pilot and four foreigners, including two American nationals, have perished.

The nationalities of the other two foreigners are yet to be confirmed. The casualties include three men and two women.

The cause of the crash has not been immediately established but an investigation has been launched.

The crash comes months after a small plane belonging to the FlySAX airline crashed on the edge of the Aberdares mountain range in June last year, leaving 10 people dead.

Something is very wrong with that headline. Kenyan pilot also died so please recognize him/her too. So American lives lost is more important than all those others? The other two- are they non white thats why you did not care to find out more before going to press? RIP to ALL.

The people could have driven to Lodwar but the roads are in a pathetic state. Another casualty of corruption and looting of public resources.
