US Condemns Tuesday’s Nairobi Terror Attack as One American Citizen is Killed

The United States has condemned Tuesday's terror attack at 14 Riverside Drive in Nairobi's Westlands area.

The US State Department says an American citizen was among those killed during the attack at DusitD2 complex and described the attack as "a senseless act of violence."

"We condemn this senseless act of violence. The U.S. Embassy has actively offered assistance to local authorities," says a US State Department spokesperson.

In a statement, outgoing US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec has condemned the attack and commended Kenyan security forces for responding swiftly.

"The United States condemns in the strongest terms the terrible attack at the Dusit2 Hotel complex in Nairobi. We offer our deepest condolences to all who have been affected by this horrifying violence," says Godec.

“We commend the courage of Kenyan security services actively working to end the attack. The U.S. Mission is in close communication with Kenyan authorities and is providing assistance. All Mission personnel are safe and we stand ready to assist U.S. citizens in need."

Speaking on Wednesday morning, President says 14 people lost their lives during the attack while 700 others have been rescued.

Somalia-based Islamic militia group, Al-Shabab has since claimed responsibility for the attack.

How long before we start taking care of ourselves? It's been close to twenty years since we started having these attacks. The children born during the first attack are now adults and we are still depending on foreigners to save us.

The Kenyan government failed to protect Lives of Kenyans.
Corruption is what is enabling terrorism.

Stolen public funds is financing terrorism.

How are they able to buy such weapons?

Go 💣 🌲🌲🌲🌲 and sell charcoal in Kisamayo.

60 years after independence and 20 years after first attack and we are still depending on foreigners to save us. This is a Jubilee failure and nothing to be proud of.

Pombe tu and PR gimmicks!
