I Want to be Kenya's President, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho Declares

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has declared that he will run for the presidency during the 2022 elections.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, the Governor said he will vie for the country’s top seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.

“I have served as an MP, I have served in the Ministry of Transport, and I have served as governor for ten years… I want the presidency,” said Governor Joho.

He continued: “Our country gives anyone a chance to try, we will talk to Kenyans and sell our agenda. It doesn’t have to be that you come from a larger tribe or a certain religion so that you become president.”

Joho said his party leader Raila Odinga has not asked him to shelve his ambition to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, adding that they will sit and agree on the way forward should Odinga also express interests in the seat.

“My party leader has always been Raila Amollo Odinga and I’m sure that will continue until the day I retire from politics because of what he stands for. And so my party leader has not told me not to run for presidency… he hasn’t,” stated Joho.

Joho, who is ODM deputy party leader, further noted that he had ended his beef with President Kenyatta and was fully behind the unity initiative brought about the March 9th handshake between Kenyatta and Odinga.

“Why would I fight someone who is on his last term while I am also on my last term as governor?” posed Governor Joho.

You can also run. We should all support every candidate, vote for one, respect others votes. I'm sure Joho will still get 1/2 a million vote. My problem is his lack of basic knowledge. He only (and not all the Arabs) is the governor, he'll seek his own votes, and his win (or loss) will be completely his, and may be close family, and no one less.

...raising that beef with the institution of the presidency exposed your foolishness. We'd been told you are a non-performer ...D-minus material....couple that with lack of wisdom = NOT MATERIAL FOR PRESIDENT.
