Kenyan MPs Want Blind Therapists Hired to Massage Them at Parliament’s Gymnasium

Members of Parliament now want blind masseurs hired to massage them at the Assembly's gymnasium.

On Wednesday, Nominated MP David Sankok tabled a report prepared by the Services and Facilities Committee asking the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) to bring blind masseurs at Parliament's gym since they are more efficient at the job.

“We are asking Parliament to go to the Machakos School for the Blind and hire some of those people because they can do a better job,” said Sankok.

The Committee’s Chairperson, Ezekiel Machogu further wants Parliament to recruit professional chefs and audit the skills of the catering servers at Assembly's cafeteria.

The report was reportedly compiled after a benchmarking tour to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland by members of the committee.

“There is need for the commission to install suggestion boxes in various strategic points within parliamentary buildings for feedback on quality and responsiveness of catering and cleaning services,” the report reads.

In February, MPs complained about tasteless food and tea served at Parliament canteen and poor gym services.

“We queue for food here like high school children. We pay heavily for this food and it is supposed to be like that of a five-star hotel. But instead, the food is bad,” Minority leader John Mbadi said.

Seme MP James Nyikal said nutritionists should be hired to work at the parliament restaurant. “Our catering service should do more than provide food,” he said.

You Parliamentarians, you were hired to be public servants. To serve the public. Duty should come first before your stomach. God help Kenya!!!

The shapeless Mpigs are known for visiting Koinang'e street. They have been seen there in their birth suits. They should stop pretending

The masseuses should wear long gloves and gowns to protect themselves from these people. Why would you give a massage to someone you cannot see???
