Mombasa Woman Representative Asha Hussein has been charged with assault in a Mombasa Magistrate's court.

Asha is accused of physically assaulting one Mayasa Hassan at Majengo estate in Mombasa on May 11th, causing her bodily harm. Hussein allegedly assaulted Hassan at her working station on a road in Tudor where she operates as a traffic marshal.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Julius Nang'ea, Asha denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 bond with a similar surety, or an alternative cash bail of Sh50,000.

The charge sheet shows that the prosecution has lined up three witnesses to testify against the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politician. The matter will be mentioned on June 28th before the same court.
