Geoffrey Kirui Wins Boston Marathon as Kenya Sweeps Men's, Women's Races

Geoffrey Kirui won the men’s race of the 121st running of the Boston Marathon, capping a sweep for Kenya after Enda Kiplagat won the women’s race.

The 24-year-old Kirui finished in 2:09:37, followed in second place by Galen Rupp of the United States in 2:09:58.  Sugar Osako of Japan finished third.

It was the first marathon win for Geoffrey Kirui, whose previous best performance was third finish at the Rotterdam Marathon in 2016.
