Wetang'ula, Musalia Deny Claims of Supremacy Wars

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula have dismissed reports of a power struggle between them.
There have been allegations that the two are engaged in a divisive battle for domination of the Western Kenya region in the Kenya Kwanza political structure. Wetang'ula's apparent eagerness to engage politically with the region is suspected to be driven by his ambition to hold sway over the Luyha community. Despite the surfacing of the allegations, the duo have publicly affirmed their joint intention of bringing the Luhya community together just as they united to form the Kenya Kwanza government.
Mudavadi emphasized that there is no power struggle between him and Wetang'ula and that they will work together as brothers to achieve their goals. Speaking at a church service in Bungoma on Sunday, Moses Wetang'ula referred to Mudavadi as his brother and spoke about the unity of the western region.
During a visit to Busia on Saturday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua confidently advocated for William Ruto's second-term candidacy in 2027, citing his impressive track record. He also encouraged the people of Western Kenya to support the Kenya Kwanza administration and disregard the opposition, which he claimed has failed several times to form a government. Gachagua thanked Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula for crossing over to work with Ruto in the lead-up to the 2022 elections.
He also encouraged the region to abandon Raila Odinga and back the government for the development of the nation. Western Kenya is believed to be a stronghold for Raila, but Kenya Kwanza is determined to flip the script in time for the 2027 elections.
