Miguna Heckled in Homa Bay County for Castigating Raila

A group of mourners at a burial in Kasipul, Homa Bay County, heckled Lawyer Miguna Miguna over his comments targeting Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Dr Miguna accused Mr Odinga of sabotaging multi-party democracy by allegedly forcing Nyanza residents to align into a one-party setup. The firebrand politician had to stop midspeech as the mourners jeered at his accusation. He had to give the microphone to the master of the ceremony when the crowd began taunting his speech which started in Dholuo and switched to English.

Lawyer Miguna was attending the burial service of  Elly Omondi and his wife Emmaculate Aluoch who died in a traffic accident on the Kisumu-Kisii highway.

During the speech, Miguna evidently expressed his support for President William Ruto, urging the crowd to accept the reality.

"The president is called William Ruto. He is the president whether you like it or not," he said.

Dr Miguna claimed that Raila is the reason behind the political struggles in Nyanza. He stated that the region only loves the ODM party and that they don't value multiparty democracy. He said Nyanza is not enjoying the fruits of independence because of their contempt towards other parties.

"Right now the people of Nyanza are not enjoying the fruits of independence because of one Raila Amollo Odinga. I have said it," Dr Miguna added.

Kenya is not as advanced as Miguna thinks.

There is a difference between Kenyans on Twitter(Online) & Kenyans not on Twitter.

Miguna should know Kenyans not on Twitter will not entertain his antics.

Miguna:

Don't forget that had it not been for the sacrifices that Raila's father (Jaramogi Oginga Odinga) made at the time of independence, Kamau Wa Ngengi (Kenyatta) would not have been the first prime minster of Kenya. Why? the British government had favored Oginga to be the first Prime Minister of Kenya 12/12/1963.

@Imara-Suluhisho, there is another theory to this. The first president of Kenya was to be Tom Mboya. He was very brilliant and the favourite of United States- to assume power in post colonial Kenya. In the 1960s, he was making speeches in the US with John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr etc.He was also loved in independent Ghana rubbing shoulders with Kwame Nkrumah among others. Jaramogi was feared and hated by the West for his socialist idealogies. There was no way the US and the UK were going to let Kenya follow Tanzania to the way of USSR. Jaramogi was politically cunning. He calculated that there was no way a newly independent Kenya was going to have a Luo president (Tom Mboya) and a Luo Vice-presindent (Jaramogi) Kenyatta was Jaramogi's ticket to the second most senior office in the land. Jaramogi claimed the British detained Kenyatta -as "our leader" in order to deny Tom Mboya the seat of power. If he was such a great friend of Kenyatta, why is it that in only about two years in power, Jaramogi had a fall-out with Kenyatta? In pictures of Kenyatta in colonial prison, you see Daniel Troitishi Arap Moi visiting him and not Jaramogi. They had to part ways. They became historical enemies-and a curse that we as a country are still struggling with?

@ Mwororo

I like your objective approach of dealing with challenging, salient, and sensitive issues especially in "politics" and "religion."

When you wrote:

" Jaramogi was feared and hated by the West (Northerners) for his socialist ideologies. There was no way the US and the UK were going to let Kenya follow Tanzania to the way of USSR."
This makes a lot of sense Ndugu Mwororo. As the Americans say, "I buy it." That means, I agree with you.
It's very unfortunate that our "Northerners" (North of Kenya) brothers and sisters still don't let us decide what economic and political ideologies we can independently take as a sovereign nation without their immediate desire to influence our choices. This is sad. I thought the construct "democracy." specifically means, the ability to make your personal and independent decisions (choices) after examining several options rather than any external forces deciding for us.

MM should just forget about being the Jesus Christ of Jaluos! Jaluos are far much deeper into the cult of Hell! Mentally irretrievably broken, a lost cause for redemption! Sorry Bwana MM! Live your life, join us!!

Thank you Miguna for speaking the truth and your mind. Isn't that what democracy is about? Unless if RaO is agitating for autocracy, which apparently is what the world is seeing..

What truth?

Miguna is suffering from delusions of grandeur.
The man is out of touch with the reality of Luo’s in Nyanza.

Also his politics don’t translate well Nationally.
