Banissa Member of Parliament Kulow Maalim Hassan has died after a hit-and-run accident in Nairobi.
The second-time MP died from the injuries he sustained after being hit by a motorcycle in Nairobi’s South B area on Saturday, according to reports.
Maalim was taken to Aga Khan Hospital where he passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment.
President Ruto is among the leaders who have sent their condolence messages to the family, friends, and the people of Bannisa constituency for the loss.
“I extend my condolences to the family, colleagues and friends. We have lost a dedicated public servant and a passionate advocate for the people and interests of Mandera County as a whole,” Ruto said.
Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale mourned as a “a brother in faith and comrade in the North Eastern Province (NEP) leadership.”
Eldas MP Adan Keynan eulogized him as an illustrious leader and a devoted public servant.
"Kulow was the epitome of an illustrious leader, a devoted public servant and an amiable figure in the community who discharged his leadership responsibilities with great honor and dexterity," Keynan said.
Mandera West MP Adan Haji said "Maalim was a great leader and a devote Muslim who have played a pivotal role in our society.”
