Kalonzo Musyoka Gives an Update on His Wife’s Health

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has given an update on his wife’s health.

His spouse Pauline Musyoka has been battling an undisclosed illness for six years and has occasionally flown out of the country for treatment.

Mrs. Musyoka was first admitted to Nairobi Hospital in December 2015 and has been in and out of hospital since then.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Friday, Musyoka said his wife’s health condition is improving though she is recuperating in hospital.

“Mama is stable and we thank God. We continue to pray for a miracle,” an emotional Kalonzo said.

Pauline, who was a banker by profession working at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) before her ailment, is currently admitted to a hospital in Germany.

Musyoka described his wife as a mobilizer and admitted he misses her even as he seeks to become Kenya’s fifth president this year.

"She always follows and that is why at the delegates conference some two family members were there with me and we keep on praying," Musyoka said, adding that he is hopeful that the family will soon be reunited with their mother.

“She knows I must continue fighting; in fighting on, I believe I am also assisting in her recovery.”

During the Wiper delegates conference in November, Kalonzo disclosed that he met his wife in 1972 when both were in high school.

“Huyu mke wangu Pauline tulijuana na yeye akiwa Form 2 na mimi nikiwa Form 5. This was about 1972, Yeye alikuwa Mlango Girls. Alikuwa Secretary ya Kamati ya Wakristo. Na mimi nilipokuwa Meru School tukakutana katika Christians Conference, Mama Maridadi, beautiful, tall and smart. Then after that nikaona a beautiful wife is a gift from God,” he said.
