Deputy President Ruto's Weston Hotel Breaks Silence After Demolition Rumors
The management of Weston Hotel has dismissed rumors that the facility is set to be demolished.
In a statement on Thursday, the hotel assured its customers that operations are running smoothly without any interruption and urged them to disregard any contrary information.
“Following numerous comments and enquiries from concerned stakeholders, friends, and customers, we would like to clarify and assure our esteemed guests and the general public that the hotel operations are running smoothly without any interruption. Any contrary information should be disregarded,” the statement reads.
“We would like to welcome our clients to continue supporting us and wish all of you a Happy Customer Service Week.”
Rumors about the planned demolition of the five-star hotel owned by Deputy President William Ruto emerged on social media on Wednesday night.
It started with a tweet from Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, who posted photos of bulldozers ostensibly parked close to the hotel.
“The Deep State are indeed cornered. They have today decided to express their fury by demolishing Weston Hotel,” Sudi wrote.
The hotel has been at the center of dispute for years, with the National Lands Commission (NLC) finding that the 0.77 hectares of land it sits on was illegally acquired from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

It must be hard to sleep in hotel on illegally acquired land. Anytime bulldozers may appear and all would scatter with their belongings. Once he is president then the bulldozers would be out of sight. And more hotels would be built on primary schools and kids would learn under trees and wheel barrows would be ubiquitous(Everywhere)
