I Warned Her Against Going to Saudi Arabia But She Run Away, Husband of Deceased Kenyan Woman Says

The estranged husband of a Kenyan woman who died under mysterious circumstances in Saudi Arabia in February has spoken out.

Bernard Njenga says his late wife Esther Wanjiku Thuku revealed plans to fly to Saudi Arabia in January 2019 in search of greener pastures, but he was against the idea.

The two disagreed over the matter, prompting Wanjiku to walk out on him and move back to her parent’s house.

“When I told her that I do not like that idea, we started having small issues, and shortly she ran away and went back to her parent’s home. She carried the kids and went with them. I did not follow up with her immediately,” Njenga told Tuko in an interview.

In June 2019, Wanjiku traveled to the Gulf country to work as a domestic manager and left her children under the care of her mother and never informed her husband.

"When she left for Saudi Arabia, she was in her mother's hands. I was never told, I learned that she left from my sister when she was at the airport and wanted to talk to our son. Only her mother can explain how she left, who facilitated her flight,'' Njenga said.

Since her arrival in the Middle East country, she was in constant communication with her family and children until January this year when they tried calling her in vain.

Worried by her unusual silence, the family contacted her employer in Saudi Arabia in February and were told that Esther no longer worked for them. She said Esther left in January.

When the family reached out to her Saudi agents, they claimed Esther traveled back to Kenya but when the family insisted she did not return, they asked for more time to look for her.

They later sent the family a voice recording confirming that Esther was still in Saudi Arabia but they did not know where she was working.

On May 18th, the family posted about her disappearance on social media platforms for people working in Saudi Arabia.

The following day, they received a call from Saudi’s Ministry of Home Affairs informing them that Esther died on February 28th, 2021.

They were asked to send an email bearing the names of those who will pick her body at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The family is waiting for her body to arrive in the country for burial.

They look at Africans as slaves! Why don’t the government formalize and take control of this issue of looking for work in the countries of this shameless slave drivers who despise black people.

Those of us who believe we have Judaism linkage also believes Arabs and Iranians are barbaric and salvage people who have no soul. They are summarily mass murders who can kill at a moment thought. They are still caught up in their pagan believe that God sent a barbaric from the desert around 570 AD to bring another different doctrine than what was already established through the coming of Jesus Christ. The barbaric writings were plagiarism from what was already written in the Bible. If that barbaric operated in Today's world it could have been fined a hefty penalty and it's work would on be published by anybody. Kenyans going to Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia should first weigh risk versus the benefits. Saudi Arabia only abolished slavery in 1964 and there are still a lot of slave owners alive and are not happy slavery was abolished. Those are the type of ragheads killing Kenyans

Man blessings and approval is always needed and no one can override it or else is a curse. A man may look weak physically and financially but still in God's image

Its so unfortunate and sad that the lady had to lose her life pursuing greener pastures...
for those condemning the lady for not listening to her husband, would it have made any difference if it were the husband not listening to the wife?
The world of today is nolonger the place where the man is the head of the house when it comes bread winning. Whoever has the potential to afetch more wealth should be encouraged.Iknow that does not sit well with most men, since they are threatened by a woman who earns more than them.
Bottom line, marriage is apartnership, and sometimes the partners may agree to disagree, and move on,as seems to have been the case here.
It also pays to lay down some ground work in your marriage, especially when it comes to financial matters and sex. Those are the two that I hear most couples fight about...My two cents.

I worked inter Arab countries some time back @maxiley! Then folks still view black people as objects of slavery to satisfy the needs of their lazy asses! I have warned many not to travel there but they think I’m stopping them from catching a few oil fields! All I can say is that experience is the best teacher! However, some went there got the experience but never got to learn from it because they unfortunately steely died searching for that piece of the piece they could never find in Kenya! I will never return to any Arab country no matter what! Going there is just putting yourself in the shackles of slavery. Those folks have no heart! They are just animals…!!!!

@ Mwaniki, from what I have read, racism not withstanding, there are along of africans thriving there is that true?
Anyway, my main question to you is this, do you think their religion has influenced their thinking about africans. I understand that Islam teach that the males can take advantage of their black slaves?

To much of unknowns in this story. 1.There must be a good reason as to why she left her hubby. 2. We can't speculate her death since we don't know anything about her medical history and her lifestyle. May her soul RIP.

The amount of make up on her face is alarming to say the least in the Arab kingdom. Most philipino women are taught to avoid make up and dress modestly before going to work as domestic workers in the Middle East during training.Once a the Arab wife suspects an affair with the domestic worker. The rest is history. I’m not pointing fingers just a theory or a possibility.
