Man Arrested for Sending Death Threats to Senator Irungu Kang'ata

A man has been arrested on suspicion of sending death threats to Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata.
Michael Chege Bunyi, who is aged between 27 and 30, was arrested in Ruiru, Kiambu County by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
His arrest follows a complaint filed on January 7th at the DCI headquarters by Senator Kang’ata, who is also the Senate Majority Whip.
He reported that the owner of mobile number 254 771 258157 sent him messages saying he would be assassinated over his leaked letter in which he warned President Kenyatta that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was unpopular in Mt Kenya.
Detectives tracked the phone number and arrested the suspect in Mirera area, where he was found with multiple SIM cards of various mobile phone service providers.
He was also found with a list of contacts of many politicians, indicating that he might be an extortionist and a nuisance.

Kangata strikes me as a not so intelligent fella to hold the position of a majority whip! Something is seriously unconventionally weird about this guy. He is not a truly honest man; he can’t be trusted!
