Kenya’s Covid-19 Infections Rise to 1,286

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Kenya has jumped to 1,286 after 72 more people tested positive for the virus from 2,711 samples examined in the past 24 hours.

70 of the new patients are Kenyans, one Somali and one Ugandan national, according to the Health Ministry.

The cases are distributed across four counties including Nairobi (52), Mombasa (11), Kiambu (7), Isiolo (1), and Turkana (1).

In Nairobi, Langata registered the highest number of new infections with 21 followed by Dagoretti North (15), Kamukunji (4), Kibra (4), Embakasi East (2), Kasarani (3), Dagoretti South (1), Makadara (1) and Mathare (1).

At the same time, the tally of Covid-19 recoveries in Kenya increased by nine to 402 while the death toll rose by one to 52.

As of Monday, May 25th, a total of 61,971 samples had been tested for Covid-19.

The Ministry of Health has urged Kenyans to maintain a balanced diet and do regular physical exercises in order to improve their immunity, which is key in fighting Covid-19 and other illnesses.
