Coronavirus Cases in Kenya Jump to 7 as 3 More People Test Positive

Three more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Kenya, the Health Ministry has said.
In a media briefing on Wednesday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the three patients recently traveled to Kenya from abroad. The cases were confirmed at the National Influenza Centre and Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) laboratories
“We have received confirmation of another three cases of coronavirus. Tests were conducted at KEMRI and National Influenza Laboratory. All these cases are imported from outside Kenya,” said Kagwe.
The three include a couple who arrived in the country from Madrid, Spain via Dubai on March 5th and a Burundian national who traveled from Dubai and arrived on Tuesday, March 17th.
CS Kagwe indicated that the Burundian citizen was picked out during routine screening at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
“He was picked up by our surveillance team with high temperature during routine screening at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport,” added Kagwe.
The new cases bring the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in Kenya to seven.
