Meru MCA Petronilla Gainchi Dies in Nairobi

Petronilla Gainchi, a Member of the Meru County Assembly (MCA) has passed away.

Gainchi, a nominated MCA, died on Friday while undergoing treatment at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi, Meru County Assembly Speaker Kaberia Arimba confirmed.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have learned of the passing on of our colleague Hon. Petronilla Gainchi Kiao while receiving treatment at MP Shah Hospital Nairobi. On my behalf and that of the entire County Assembly of Meru fraternity, I do convey our condolences to the family, friends, and relatives,” Speaker Kaberia said.

“We pray that the Almighty God grants the family strength, requisite fortitude, and understanding to enable them to withstand the monumental loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”

Her passing comes two days after another MCA from Kiambu died in Miami, India on Wednesday while on official duty. Kahawa Wendani Ward Representative Cyrus Omondi was found dead in his hotel room after suffering what is said to be a heart attack.
