Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua says President Kenyatta offered her a Cabinet post after the 2017 general elections but she turned down the offer.

In a post on her Twitter page on Wednesday, Karua said Kenyatta offered her the post as he constituted a new Cabinet following his re-election.

During campaigns for 2017 elections, President Kenyatta promised to appoint to the government the candidate who would lose in Kirinyaga gubernatorial contest between Karua and Anne Waiguru.

Karua said President Uhuru fulfilled the pledge by offering her a job but was yet to accomplish some unnamed promises made to her Nark-Kenya party.

"Maybe I should now disclose that I rejected an offer for a cabinet post in 2017 after the elections. To that extent, the promise was fulfilled to me but promises to Narc-Kenya remain unfulfilled," Karua tweeted without disclosing why she rejected the offer.

Waiguru won the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race after garnering 153,353 votes (53 percent) ahead of Karua, who got 116,626 votes (41 percent).

Karua unsuccessfully challenged Waiguru’s win in court on grounds that the election was marred by bribery of voters.

What does she want? Is she a typical "political leader", big ideas, and can only survive on government handouts? Technically corrupting the system for their own good. May be she should take her supporters to the streets till she get an offer.

Martha, you're a very smart lady capable of helping in the leadership and development of our nation however, your arrogance and pride made you a pariah and incapable of being useful to wananchi.

Our leaders forget they are public servants. Martha, you make personal demands instead of sticking to your goals, if you had any for your country.
What have you done on your own since 2017 to show us why you wanted the job from Uhuru. Or are you still waiting for hand out?
Our leaders in Kenya are our sad story due to greed, corruption and self-serving interests.
We pray that they wake up from their slumber before it's too late.
