Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong’o to be Sentenced Next Week in Tussle over Sh200 Million Family Estate

Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong’o and his sister Risper Nyagoy have been found guilty of contempt of court.

High Court Judge Thrispisa Cherere said the two failed to include their nephews as beneficiaries of Sh200 million estate left behind by their father Hesbon Shimei Nyong’o, who died on November 2006 without leaving a will.

Justice Cherere cited a court order issued in October 2018 that required the two to include all their sisters’ children as beneficiaries of their father’s estate within 45 days.

The estate includes 100 acres of land in Miwani, residential flats along Jogoo Road in Nairobi, parcels of land in Manyatta, Tamu, Milimani estate and East Rata, Kisumu County among others.

Justice Cherere had previously revoked the administrative letters and certificate of confirmation of grant that placed Governor Nyong’o and Ms. Nyagoy as the sole controllers of the property.

Justice Cherere further appointed Governor Nyong'o's nephew Kennedy Odhiambo Okuthe as a co-administrator of the multi-million-shilling estate.

Okuthe later sued Governor Nyong’o and Nyagoy for leaving out some relatives in the list of beneficiaries of the estate.

Prof. Nyong’o and Ms. Nyagoy will be sentenced on May 28th, 2019.

And please Kenya, I do not have anything ill against Nyong'o but do not come back telling us another governor has been caught, then released. We're tired of this fake war on corruption that Uhuru keeps telling us!!

It will be a terrible miscarriage of justice if these two are not punished for being in contempt of court.
