Football Legend Joe Kadenge Leaves Nairobi Hospital after Two Months of Treatment

Kenyan football legend Joe Kadenge has finally been discharged from hospital after two months of specialized treatment.

The 84-year-old was admitted to the Nairobi Hospital's High Dependency Unit (HDU) on February 13th after allegedly suffering a stroke.

This came days after his daughter Evelyn Wanjiku Kadenge Hoskin passed away in the United States.

Ms. Wanjiku reportedly succumbed to a stroke in Aurora, Colorado on February 9th.

Wanjiku, who was married in the US, was laid to rest on February 18th in Colorado. His father missed the burial as he was hospitalized.

Speaking to the People Daily, his brother John Anzrah says Kadenge's health status has improved but is yet to regain his mobility.

“He (Kadenge) is resting at home. Doctors saw it better to discharge him on Saturday because his condition has improved,” Anzrah says.

He has also refuted claims that his family is unable to raise money to foot his hospital bill.

“He could not have been released had the bills not been cleared,” he says.

Really sad to see a legend that brought so much joy to Kenyans back in the day. I fondly remember Leonard Mambo saying,”kadenge an mpira, goaaaallllllll”. Be well dear sir, lots of hard months of physical and occupational therapy in your future hopefully to get you back hopefully as good as you once were!
