Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa Expelled from ODM Party over Disloyalty

Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa has been expelled from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
The decision to kick out the 'rebel' MP has been made by the Raila Odinga-led party’s National Governing Council following a meeting on Friday.
Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori were accused of disloyalty and gross misconduct after they publicly endorsed Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
The vocal MP has the option of appealing the decision at the Political Parties Dispute’s Tribunal.
If her appeal fails, Malindi Constituency voters will be forced to return to the ballot to elect a new MP.
The ODM NGC has, however, spared Dori after he tendered an apology.
“That having received a letter of apology from Hon. Suleiman Dori, the members resolved to defer their decision,” ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna says.

Yes, only when they come…

Yes, only when they come begging on a bended knee does almighty ODM allow them to remain in the party. What a deja vu taking us back to Moi's one party KANU dictatorship. Aisha Jumwa is a super lady and her courageous stand on democracy in the face of party bullies is commendable. People of Malindi should rally behind Jumwa and defend democracy.
